John has been in the insurance industry for 36 years. 28 years ago, John and his late father-in-law combined their businesses to form the Gimlin & Udy Insurance Agency. Although his father-in-law passed away in August of 2016, the family element continues here. Co-owner and fellow corporate officer is his wife, Lauri. She handles HR and all of the bookkeeping duties. His daughters Eliza Udy, Jessi Horn & Rebekah Eccles work at the agency as well. John always wanted to be a farmer. His very first job was working for a local farming family. Although the dream of becoming a farmer never materialized for him, he has had the privilege of insuring some of Ventura County’s most prominent farmers, including the very same farming family that gave him his first job!
